Proctor relaunched its Career Cafes last month, beginning with Careers in Industry, Commerce & Entrepreneurship. There were six local guest professionals and 36 high school students in attendance. Next Up: Health & Fitness Career Cafe on Thursday, March 16th.
In February, Proctor students in Ms. Cheney’s Writing in the Workforce and Ms. Kennedy’s Industry & Commerce Class participated in a virtual symposium in honor of Vermont’s Entrepreneurship Day. The event included Governor Scott, Secretary of Commerce Kurrle, as well as a panel of successful young entrepreneurs from around the state.
The Vt Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) visited Ms. Cheney’s Writing in the Workforce class to teach students a variety of business tools (business plan, media release, elevator pitch) to help them prepare for their “Shark Tank” competition later this week.
